Jimmy Carr slagging off amputee soldiers

What are your thoughts on the supposed comedian Jimmy Carr and his comments on our lads who fought in Iraq/Afghanistan?

I'd like to meet him on a dark night with a baseball bat. What a prat, there are some things you joke about and some you don't.
Playing with these boys sensibilities is the last straw as far as I'm concerned.

He has stated that he first heard it when visiting Headley Court from one of the soldiers who is staying there. So that's all right then!disbeliefno

HAve not heard about this one, but even if he did hear it from one of the lads themselves, repeating it in a public domain may not have been the best thing to do, when it comes from a victim themselves, it could just have been a way of letting off steam. Its a very sensitive issue, and best left alone, in my book.

Hi,
I'm with you on that, Rod. We all know what "service humour" is all about, but there's a time and place, and that was neither.

We all know what service humour is all about and if you can't stand the heat, stay out of the kitchen etc. But there are bounds which no serviceman will cross.
I doubt if this Carr bloke has every served in the military, because if he had he would know where to draw the line. And, I doubt anyone in the military would ever say anything remotely like that, not even in anger.

I think that if he HAD been in the Armed Forces, somebody would have shut his mouth rather forcefully by now!
